D’Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence: For Food And Attraction Hoppers

D’Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence is strategically located in the heart of Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

The Hotel is accessible via the North-South Expressway and is about an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. It has 303 fully-furnished rooms including luxury rooms with sea views over the Straits of Malacca. It also has superb meeting rooms, making the hotel a main destination for business with the incredible sea views and town views. D’ Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence is the perfect choice for both business and leisure, which provides the best service in hospitality.

We got to book a stay with them and we were greeted with a nice queen bed set up. A small living space is located just behind the bed.

There is also a small dining area with just enough space to eat if you will bring some food in your room or if you want to prepare something instant in the mini kitchen. Their mini kitchen has the basic equipment for a coffee and enough to warm some take outs.

There is also a main bedroom with a full window where you can enjoy the view of the beach and PD waterfront (which is basically the best place to be if you are looking for many food options)! The hotel is located just across PD Waterfront.

The main reason we booked a stay here was their Ramadan Buffet. More details on the food and set up in our Ramadan Buffet post.

You can also check the view of the pool from above! It looks so inviting especially that my toddler loves the water.

But one nice thing about this hotel is that you can add an additional bedroom with a king-sized bed with their very strategic architecture. An additional room with bathroom is available via a connecting door! Watch the above video to see it!

There is a common bathroom, though, if you will opt out of an additional room. The bathroom has enough space for a shower and a mirror. Basic toiletries are also provided.

One of the experiences here is to be able to witness a beautiful sunset view with Genting Dream Cruise in the background. You can even have the same background if you take a picture by the pool! Talk about a very awesome view!

There are also convenient vending machines and games for kids at the hotel. Perfect if you are traveling with kids, like us, so they won’t get bored and have additional activities aside from swimming. The vending machine is a favorite for us, especially when we crave for late night easy snacks!

We had dinner (which we already talked about in previous post) and took a beautiful picture in front of the hotel during the night. We can just crossed the street and walk a bit to experienced PD Waterfont’s food truck event, but we opted to drive for the convenience of Shafa’s 69-year-old mom.

Watch below videos, recorded live on Facebook, to have some idea on The Food Truck Carnival!

We had some rain in the morning but that didn’t stop us from exploring more of the hotel. We passed through the beautiful swimming pool (which had a viewing deck nearby) to be able to reach the breakfast place. What a lovely stroll in the morning!

They have varieties of food offered during the breakfast buffet. Watch below live video, recorded on Facebook, to know more about their breakfast buffet!

Because of too much food and dining experiences in the area, it was very refreshing to be able to see their gym and playground located just beside the pool area. It made the guilt from all the eating less! The area is well put up specially for kids’ safety.

Upon checking out, we waited in their nicely decorated area, leaving a smile on our faces even if we were already leaving.

It was a great experience from beginning to end, indeed. Highly recommended!

Food Review: Reef Cafe at D’Wharf Hotel & Residence

JenjalanKami is so thrilled to be given the opportunity to experience stay at D’Wharf Hotel & Residence, located in Port Dickson. Full review of the hotel will be out soon.

In this particular blog post, we would like to highlight the various dishes available at Reef Cafe. This cafe is located at the Ground floor of the hotel.

They offer varieties of appetizers, but we did not try any of them. However, we did try Cream Of Mushroom Soup – it was delicious!

The Cream Of Mushroom Soup comes together with garlic bread. We originally ordered this for our toddler. He loved the soup!

This soup is available for RM8.90.

Small eaters? Worry not – they offer Bite’s Selections specially for those that just want to have some bites at the restaurant. You can also choose to eat pasta if you love Italian food!

And if you’re like Shafa’s mom, rice is a must! We tried the Reef’s Nasi Lemak, and it tasted not bad.

The nasi lemak is served with sambal, anchovies, chicken rendang (our favourite!), boiled egg, cucumber and peanut. It’s very filling – Shafa’s mom even shared it with everyone!

The dish is available for RM14.90.

Lovers of western food, no worries. You will get a wide selection of western food here! Though it’s very tempting for lamb lovers like Shafa to order the Grilled Lamb Chop, she decided not to – at the end of the day, she still need to finish our toddler’s food!

And for those sweet tooth out there, these desserts are specially for you! They even have Vanilla Creme Brulee to satisfy your cravings.

Last but not least, are the beverages. We opted for the Freshly Squeezed Oranges and Apple. Trying to stay healthy here after indulging loads of amazing food!

They were really fresh, indeed! Vibrant colours with real fruit taste, these are definitely must-have to accompany your meals!

The freshly squeezed fruits are available for RM9 each.

And that sums up our review for today. What are your thoughts on the food available here at Reef Cafe? Drop your comments below!

The Buzz And Royal Gourmet: July And August Promotion Food Review

JenjalanKami is so excited to bring you our next food review – The Buzz and Royal Gourmet, two restaurants located in Premiere Hotel Klang, for their July and August menu!

We were warmly greeted by the staff upon arrival. Great customer service!

The moment we came into the restaurant, the set up for photography was ready. So efficient!

Now, let’s dive in to how the food tasted – starting from the new menu for The Buzz!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Ikan Bakar Tepian Tebrau. Interesting name, isn’t it? It’s really the exact location where the chef was inspired to came up with the recipe.

Now, if only we can be like him – tasting a good food and try coming up with a recipe when we got home. This blog could turn into a cooking blog!

The fish comes together with rice, so it definitely is very filling. Believe us, it tastes just as great as how it looks (we rated a perfect excellent for this)!

We love the mix of sourness, and the level of hot is tolerable. Though we personally think it would be nicer if it is more hot. Then again, we are used to Negeri Sembilan & Javanese cooking, so probably we have different taste preference with the local Klang people in terms of the hot level.

The set is available for RM32.

Looking for finger foods during lunch time? No problem, they have Carbonara Chicken Spring Roll!

As you can see, it is very well-presented with beautiful mix of salad and tomatoes. Such a healthy lunch!

The wrap is crunchy with creamy carbonara sauce – prepared with the right mix of chicken and vegetables inside. We loved the taste, and thus, rated a perfect excellent for this dish as well. However, we personally think it would taste better without the peas (hey, we’re not peas fans).

The dish is available for RM20.

Pasta lovers, we hear you! This dish is called Pasta Vongole Pesto With Clam. The look is nice and the portion is great! But since we are not familiar with pesto, we think it tasted average. But worth a try!

This dish is available for RM25.

And now, let’s move to the menu for Royal Gourmet!

This tasty-looking dish is called Claypot Glass Noodle with Fresh Water Prawn, and has a great mix of vegetables and prawns. It’s a little bit salty to us, but just nice to tone down the strong taste of the vegetables.

But we have to tell this – the prawns were so juicy! So, all you prawn lovers out there should try this dish if you happen to be around town. As you can see, the portion is very big – definitely can accommodate big eaters!

This dish is available for RM32.

Last, but not least, is the Sizzling Honey Glaze Chicken. This particular picture is credit to our dearest friend Reen Borhan, who helped taking some pictures as back up. Many thanks!

These sizzling bites of chicken in sweet honey glaze is delicious, especially since it’s served hot! The presentation and the portion size are also great. We love it!

This dish is available for RM28.

Overall, we absolutely love and highly recommend people around the area of Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang, to try out their new menu. Kudos to Chef Noor Hisham Bin Mohamed Yusof and Chef Mohd Rosnan Bin Jaraih for preparing the awesome food!

Also special thanks to Mr. Azmi Tajudin for arranging the food & beverage, as well as Mr. Shamsul Fariz Mohd Sharif for inviting us.

What do you think of their new menu? Drop your comments below!

How To Choose The Right Travel Luggage For Family Travellers

The school holidays are coming soon! We’re pretty sure everyone is busy booking holiday destinations at this point of time (if you’re going to have early flight from Kuala Lumpur, a stay at Tune Hotel KLIA2 is highly recommended). But wait, have you checked whether your bags are in good condition? Lucky if they are, but worry not if they don’t – as it’s not too late to buy them online. We love online shopping – we even do our weekly grocery shopping online, too!

Being frequent travellers ourselves, we have made research of what we look for when it comes to buying a travel luggage, which we are happy to share in this blog post! Oh and yes, some of them are affiliate links – it would probably help us to buy a teh tarik at the nearest mamak restaurant 🙂

Let’s not waste time and see what we think about choosing the right travel luggage – especially if you are a family traveller (and in our case, travelling with a baby or toddler)!

1. Consider your travel partners

We usually travel with a toddler (who loves throwing tantrums) and an elderly (who don’t have too much energy) – so having wheels is a must! If you travel with small kids, four-wheeled luggage like this streak travel luggage 20inch cabin size works wonders, especially if your toddler loves pushing them, too (be careful, they can even run and push at the same time). However, do note that most four-wheeled luggage have hard case, so you don’t have the option to put documents inside it without having to open the main zip.

2. Consider your itinerary

If you are like us, who dragged our luggage around for stadium tour during our short stop in Manchester (yes, we did that), you may find trolley duffel bags like this Oxford Waterproof Trolley Duffel Bag Thick Style Suitcase Women&Men Travel Bags convenient. Not only will you be able to pull the luggage around for a quick tour, it is even easy to carry when there’s a lot of stairs! They also usually have stylish looks – so perfect shopping bag for you even when you’re visiting upmarket places like Bicester Village.

3. Don’t forget your mummy bag

This is a bag any mom won’t leave home without. Believe me, mummy bags make life easier, especially when toddler starts throwing tantrum – opening the normal luggage seems like taking forever! Consider travel-friendly mummy bags like this Travel Luggage Bag Foldable Nylon Women Mummy Carry Bag . Not only are they large enough to carry everything (when travelling with a toddler, it seems like everything is an endless list), they are also light-weight and usually foldable. You can easily slip it inside one of your luggage if you decide not to use them!

Those are some tips from us about choosing the right travel luggage for family travellers, based on our experience travelling with a toddler and an elderly. Do you have some other points to recommend as well? Drop your comments below – we are more than happy to receive more ideas!

Tune Tour Episode 1: Tune Hotel KLIA2

We’re so excited to share with you the first of many Tune Tours that Yusof and Shafa’s family is going to explore and experience. Read more to learn about *drum roll* the Tune Hotel KLIA2!

As you know, KLIA2 is Malaysia’s airport for low-cost airlines and what a convenience to check-in to also check in in a low-priced hotel just beside the airport! The lobby area is typical with all the waiting area chairs that will make you comfortable while waiting, a bar, a common area and a convenience store in one place. The reception area, however, is divided. There is a specific one if you’re travelling in groups and individual. That made our checking-in and checking-out experience a bliss – it was so easy.We availed two standard twin rooms – one for our family and the other one is for Shafa’s Mom (Yusof’s family couldn’t join us this time because of another event). The cute decorations in our room is the first thing we noticed. It made us wanted to decorate our room in our house too! Our toddler, who only speaks when he’s in the mood, was also super excited and kept talking about the pictures in our room.

The safe box was neatly located at the bottom of the side table, in the middle of our twin beds. The downside: our toddler played with it every single minute.

The bathroom in our room was super small but also super neat! There was no cupboard, but there’s a place to hang your clothes.*Updated information (thank you Mr. Syahrol Ikhwan Mohd Fadzil from Tune Hotel):*All the hotel rooms are air-conditioned with a ceiling fan (Guests are able to use both during stay, no extra charge). Only few rooms are without ceiling fan (Premium Room and Garden Room). The view of our room was not the airport side but we managed to see some flying planes. Our little one seems happy with the room and view, so no worries!

As mentioned, KLIA2 is a few walks away to the hotel. You just actually have to cross a road. We tried that ourselves – it was really near and walking distance, but it was a lengthy walk for senior citizens like my 69-year old mother. I was also having a hard time babywearing my toddler with all the walking! But surely, as any other airports, wheelchairs will be available if we need one.

Being near the airport, this means that Tune Hotel KLIA2 is also near to pharmacy stores, retails stores, ATMs and currency exchange available in the airport. Also, if you’re craving for other food aside from the ones in the hotel, restaurants like Burger King and the likes are also within reach.

In the morning, we had our breakfast at Makan – the hotel’s cafe. The food. Was. Great! You have the option to eat inside the cafe or outside. In the morning, we had our breakfast at Makan – the hotel’s cafe. The food. Was. Great! You have the option to eat inside the cafe or outside. The breakfast buffet opens at 4am until 10am. In addition to a nice nature view, it was so convenient if you’re having an early flight in the morning, right? Special thanks to one of the staff – he gave us some tips about Makan & Tune Hotel KLIA2. Check out below live video, recorded on Facebook!
