CNY Menu At Ming Palace Restaurant, Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur

JenjalanKami was honored to be invited by Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur to have some food tasting of their new CNY menu at Ming Palace Restaurant, located in the hotel!

Being in the CNY mood, Shafa decided to wear a casual CNY themed outfit, which she had bought years ago. Glad it still fits!

The hotel itself was lovely decorated with CNY decorations. Festive mood is in the air!

The restaurant was oriental-themed, perfect for those who are eating out to celebrate CNY.

Meet the Executive Chinese Chef behind the CNY menu – Mr. Ng Chee Wah! Beside him was the Senior Marketing Manager of Corus Hotel KL – Ms. Azlinda Mohd.

OMG we swear this was the tastiest and the most heavy full course we’ve had in our entire life! πŸ˜‚

Let’s dive on into each of the dishes!

1. Lou Sang Set Of Pear And Salmon Fish Yee Sang

We started of with, first and foremost, the Pear And Salmon Fish Yee Sang! This was second or third Yee Sang for Shafa, but the tastiest one she had so far!

She’s a big fan of salmon and salads, so this dish easily became her favourite (hence, the happy face). There were pears, guava and pomelo mixed with the salmon and pine nuts. Mmmm… So yummy and crunchy!

2. Double Boiled Chicken With Abalone, Sea Cucumber And ‘Ming Mok Yee’

Have a look at Shafa’s face, and you can imagine how fragrant the broth was. This double boiled chicken soup tasted quite intense, as it is more of a tonic than a broth.

With abalone and ming mok yee added, it is said that this soup can help ward off physical and mental fatigue, improve one’s mood, regulate blood sugar levels, improve blood circulation and keep the body healthy as a whole – perfect as a dish for Chinese New Year!

3. Steamed Tiger Grouper In Supreme Soy Sauce

The dish looked so good, Shafa opened her mouth wide to eat all of them straight away (she’s a big fan of steamed fish). πŸ˜‚

This Steamed Tiger Grouper drizzled with the chef’s secret Supreme Soy Sauce was so delicious! The flesh is tender, silky and super delicate – you may want to consider to ask for second serving!

4. Lemon Salad Chicken

This Lemon Salad Chicken was so good. The sauce was sweet and tangy – totally makes you feel like you’re in heaven! The chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside. We really fell in love with this dish!

5. Baked Tiger Prawn With Salted Egg Yolk

This savoury goodness was our favourite! The golden yellow dish has a sandy texture that tasted so good in each and every bite – especially since it was mixed with Nestum cereal. There’s no word to describe how good it was!

6. Fried Rice With Almond And Raisins

We totally fell in love with this dish! The combination of almond and raisins were so savoury and sweet – it pairs beautifully with other dishes in the set. This is definitely a perfect side dish for the Chinese New Year!

7. Chilled Sea Coconut With Longan

The Chilled Sea Coconut With Longan is very nourishing and cooling – perfect to beat the heat of Malaysia’s hot weather.

This dessert has many benefits for the body, such as moisturises the lungs and tonifies the kidneys – yet the sweet taste of the longan make it as scrumptious as any dessert. We wouldn’t mind eating bowls and bowls of this!

8. Sweet Dainties Duet

This dish has 2 desserts in it (hence the name duet) – which are steamed bun with red bean filling and fried ninko bun yam based with lotus paste filling.

The hot and fluffy steamed buns were irresistible! The soft and fluffy buns were stuffed with sweet red bean paste filling. As for the ninko buns, they were wrapped around lotus paste and dipped in a yam batter which were fried to perfection. They tasted so good, it made us want to have a second serving!

The set menu starts from RM 1,188 nett onwards (per table of minimum 10 persons) inclusive of one bottle of red wine or chilled orange juice with a 38% off on a second table of 10 pax.

As for the Five Prosperity β€˜Lou Sang’ Menu it is priced at RM68 nett (half portion) and RM 108 nett ( for a full portion).

All promotions are available from now till 19th February 2019.

For bookings, please contact Ming Palace Chinese Restaurant at 03-2161 8888 extension 188. Or alternatively you may call the Marketing Department at extension 163.

Thank you Corus Hotel KL for having us!

The FuelPlus Experience

Hi hello everyone!

How has your new year been? Ours is getting pretty hectic – with a lot of events, reviews & meetings, we have been delaying our blog posts for quite some time. Now, we’re back on track!

In today’s post, we would like to review our experience of using the product FuelPlus. It’s our first time using this product, and of course, Yusof is the one who’s testing it, because he is an expert on cars & fuel consumptions (at least between the two of us πŸ˜‰).

In this picture, JenjalanKami is with Muhammad Haniff Ibrahim – the CEO of CQ Bio Energy Sdn Bhd who owns the FuelPlus brand. He was briefing us about the product and how to use it, and we have been reminding him, if we hate the product, we’ll tell people about it. And he’s cool with that, he surely was very confident with his product!

That two boxes in the picture look like cigarettes boxes, but they are actually the packaging of FuelPlus! Unique, isn’t it? And that uniqueness is the reason why the people at the table beside us enquire about it and ended up buying the product (he was a total stranger to all of us – we seriously need to learn Haniff’s art of closing sales)!

Enough introduction, let’s talk about the product review itself.

This is Yusof’s Persona car’s reading before using FuelPlus. Aside from travelling as a JenjalanKami traveller, Yusof also travels everyday to customers’ factories for his day job.

If full tank and for a mixed use of city (traffic jam) and highway (constant speed), the fuel can go for about 400 kilometres.

This is the full tank, which Yusof had added FuelPlus. He set the mileage to detect how many kilometres the car can go with full tank when added FuelPlus.

And… Taa-daa! This was the result – an extra 56.7 kilometres with full tank when using FuelPlus! Same usage as previously – he traveled in the city & highways. Amazing, isn’t it?

Based on the above calculation, Yusof had saved 14.15% when using FuelPlus! Imagine the savings if you religiously use this product!

But of course, different people will have different results. As Yusof quoted, “eventually what matters the most when trying to have a better fuel consumption is the driver’s right foot”!

We hope this post will help you in making your decision whether or not to buy FuelPlus. Share us your experience, if you’re already using!

2018 In Review And 2019 Plans – JenjalanKami

We know. People already started to do 2019 goals, while we just started on reviewing 2018. That is why we mix them up in one post. Better late than never!

As we drill down all the blog posts that we have shared throughout 2018, these posts outshines others!

1. The Travelling Baby

Hack, people love the newest member of JenjalanKami rather than the same old us! I guess maybe in 2019 we should add on another new member? πŸ˜‚

Kidding. We’ll make sure our 2019 posts will be more juicy stuff on Aydeen’s adventures (and hell yeah, our planners are already started to be filled up for 2019. Woo-hoo~)!

2. Why Family With Toddlers Should Consider Travelling To Japan

Ahhh.. This was actually a general blog post, but we know our readers are mostly family travellers with baby and toddlers on tow!

And.. Most of the readers travel in Asia (our biggest number of readers are from Malaysia, we love all of you!). So probably 2019 we will focus on Asia travels (sorry brothers in Europe, will definitely catch up with both of you in between the plans)!

3. The Emirates Experience – Viewpoint Of Family Travellers

Our readers love to travel with their family, and some of them are doing a thorough research on long distance flights (we know, because some of them even personally message us in social media for some tips and advices)!

We know flights in general, whether long or short, are great investments (we literally restrain ourselves from buying good food and shopping to make this happen). Thus, review on flights will definitely be a big help for JenjalanKami’s readers. Especially if you are travelling long distance with babies and toddlers, it can easily become nightmare if things turn out unexpected 😱

Though we can’t promise long distance flight in 2019 (we are still saving for our next family visit trip), we do have some short distance flights in mind. Let’s hope for that!

4. 5 Alaska Destinations That Will Blow Your Mind

Believe it or not, United States of America is the second highest number of readers for JenjalanKami, after Malaysia! We love all of you so much!

Thus, we will not forget to put destinations pieces for this country in the year 2019. This particular post is a guest post by Nikki Spitzer, a local Alaskan. We will definitely collaborate with more American bloggers (and also possibly the countries nearby the U.S.) in year 2019!

5. 5 Reasons Why You Should Consider Le Quadri Hotel

OMG, this is our current obsession! We can’t say how much we love hotels so much! We used to be (and still are) Agoda hunters, searching for the best deals for members only (and that’s Friday, people!). πŸ˜‚

We have a number of hotels and resorts coming up for reviews in year 2019, so be sure to check out our blog every single month if you are hotel lovers, like us!

So that’s basically our review for 2018 and plans for 2019. Hope to have an awesome year ahead!
